World premiere 'Swift, Grey and Spacious' by Martijn Padding
During the world-renowned Cello Biennale, we will play the world premiere of Martijn Padding's Cello Concerto "Swift, Grey and Spacious" on Saturday , Oct. 22.
Light in dark days
As the days get colder and darker faster, music complements this by warming and illuminating. It brings us together at Amare or the Nieuwe Kerk. On Nov. 3, we played the Diwali-concert, a special concert with music as the connecting factor.

Simon Vandenbroecke, our new second bassoonist, started his work at the Residentie Orkest last August 1. In lilting Flemish, he is happy to tell you about his musical journey from the calm Flemish countryside to hectic The Hague.

The conducting project
The conducting project is part of our long learning line Discover the Orchestra. This is a three-year music program for elementary school students, which Residentie Orkest organizes together with KOO. Every year, about 1,200 pupils have the opportunity to discover classical music and the symphony orchestra in this way.

Viola player Vladimir Mendelssohn died
On Friday Aug. 13, Vladimir Mendelssohn died at the age of 71. He was solo altoist of the Residentie Orkest The Hague from 1979 to 1990.
