For violinist Stefan Jackiw (b. 1985), the invitation was a no-brainer: next season, he will be artist-in-residence with the Residentie Orkest. The internationally acclaimed American soloist is settling in The Hague with his favorite music on the program and running shoes in his suitcase. He’s ready to explore the city and further deepen his relationship with the orchestra.

After nearly fifty years of playing in orchestras—including with the Residentie Orkest since November 1988—trombonist Tim Dowling is retiring this summer. He admits frankly that he finds the idea of retirement “quite exciting.”

General and Artistic Director Sven Arne Tepl could talk for hours about the past year—and even longer about what lies ahead. With obvious enthusiasm, he looks forward to the 2026–2027 season and the musical delights we Residentie Orkest expect from the Residentie Orkest .
