Review of Classics in the Nieuwe Kerk

Atmospheric, subdued, intimate. A concert in the Nieuwe Kerk always stays with you. And that was certainly the concert with top violinist Shunske Sato. He played and conducted, among other things, Beethoven's Second Symphony and the overwhelmingly beautiful Arianna a Naxos by Haydn, sung by Barbara Kozelj. A retrospective!

Last weekend we closed the season at Amare quirky with Bartók's Viola Concerto in arrangement for cello and Mahler's heavenly Fourth Symphony. A retrospective!
