On November 14, 2023, it was party time at the Residentie Orkest in Amare! Pupils of grade 8 from our "Discover the Orchestra" schools festively concluded their participation in the learning line with the conducting project.

American composition student Niko Schroeder sought inspiration for his One Minute Symphony at The Hague City Hall. Here he met Lot van Bree, political reporter for Omroep West. You can hear how that meeting turned into notes on December 8 in Amare.

Dutch premiere of Adams' Prophecies of Stone

American composer John Luther Adams gets his inspiration from nature: from landscapes, snow plains, tundra, deserts and the ocean. On Friday, December 1, Ralph van Raat, the specialist in newly written piano works, will play the Dutch premiere of Adam's Piano Concerto "Prophecies of Stone. "An incredible monumental work!"

Star violinist Bomsori Kim performs solo in Tchaikovsky

Just last summer, she performed with our own chief conductor Anja Bihlmaier at the world-famous BBC Proms: South Korea's top violinist Bomsori Kim (b. 1989). Now she makes her debut in the Netherlands on Nov. 10 in Tchaikovsky's iconic Violin Concerto. "I am eagerly looking forward to my upcoming performance with the Residentie Orkest."

Activities around Sheherazade
