Review of RO NOW: Brahms 1

It took Johannes Brahms more than twenty years to complete his First Symphony. Again and again he held the music up to the light, forging, polishing, kneading until he knew confidently: I am where I need to be. This past weekend, the Residentie Orkest played Brahms' majestic First Symphony, conducted by regular guest conductor and future chief conductor Jun Märkl, and our own harpist Mathilde Wauters sang solo in Debussy's beautiful Danse sacrée et danse profane . The presentation of this season's Last RO NOW concert was in the hands of Christiaan Kuyvenhoven. Afterwards everyone could enjoy a drink or did a dance in the Silent Disco. Enjoy some more with these beautiful photos, taken by Jan Rijk.
