Dineke Mulock Houwer-Bunnik passed away

We received the sad news that, after a short illness, Dineke Mulock Houwer - Bunnik (1941-2025) passed away on Friday March 7, 2025. Dineke was vice president of the Residentie Orkest from 2003 to 2013 and in that role was invaluable to the orchestra. For better or for worse, she remained loyal to the orchestra and was a true ambassador for "her" Residentie Orkest. Even after her board membership she remained closely involved with the orchestra. Until very recently she could be seen at our concerts with great regularity, she supported the orchestra warmly and remained interested in the ups and downs of the organisation and of all the musicians and staff.

With gratitude and warmth, we look back to a special performance at the November 9, 2022 concert in the Nieuwe Kerk, in which Dineke took on the role of narrator with verve, in a program honoring Dutch composers who played a role in the resistance during World War II. Thanks in part to her, the stories behind the music came to life. A role that was tailor-made for her.

We are grateful for all she has meant to the Residentie Orkest and will miss her tremendously.
