Artist-in-residence Stefan Jackiw

For violinist Stefan Jackiw (b. 1985), the invitation was a no-brainer: next season, he will be artist-in-residence with the Residentie Orkest. The internationally acclaimed American soloist is settling in The Hague with his favorite music on the program and running shoes in his suitcase. He’s ready to explore the city and further deepen his relationship with the orchestra.

As of 2024, the Residentie Orkest has a new alto oboist: Alexander van Eerdewijk. "I really like the role the cor anglais plays in the orchestra. It's a very warm and expressive sound!"

Dineke Mulock Houwer-Bunnik passed away

We received the sad news that, after a short illness, Dineke Mulock Houwer - Bunnik (1941-2025) passed away on Friday March 7, 2025. Dineke was vice president of the Residentie Orkest from 2003 to 2013 and was invaluable to the orchestra in that role.

Looking back on International Women's Day

Around International Women's Day (March 8), the Residentie Orkest traditionally joined beautiful activities in the neighborhood with its social programming. This year we went out with two ensembles to three different locations.
