At the end of October the 'Rondje Instrumenten' took place; the festive kick off of Ontdek het Orkest for the classes that will start this school year with the learning line.

During the 'Rondje Instrumenten' the students of group 6 - and this school year also group 5 of one of the schools - will go on a voyage of discovery in small groups of about eight children. Armed with a road map, they get to know the orchestra's instruments and some of the musicians in five different workshops. They will have ample opportunity to play the instruments themselves.

Each group visits at least:

• one woodwind instrument (flute or clarinet)

• one brass instrument (trumpet or trombone)

• one string instrument (violin or cello)

• percussion

• and "the musician at work": a musical story played by an ensemble of the Residentie Orkest.

Enthusiasm can be heard in the hallways: children shout to each other "What fun is this, huh?" or "The trumpet I knew best!" With big smiles, they return to school ready for the next subproject in this learning line.
