David Blackmon new chairman of board of trustees

David Blackmon from The Hague has been appointed as the new chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Residentie Orkest.

David Blackmon (The Hague, 1968) comes from a very musical family where both parents were singers. As a viola player David shaped his love for music at the highest amateur level and he now enjoys playing in The Hague's Bellitoni Orchestra.

After studying Dutch law he started as a lawyer and later continued his career at Shell, Heerema and SHV with the Last fifteen years as a director in various disciplines. David joined the supervisory board of the Residentie Orkest two years ago. After two years as chairman of the audit committee, he now enthusiastically takes over as chairman of the supervisory board from Henk Breukink.

David Blackmon on his new position: "My bond with the Residentie Orkest is very close. My father performed as a soloist with the orchestra and I have had viola lessons with several musicians from the orchestra. The orchestra enriches The Hague, not only in the traditional sense but also through education and social involvement throughout the region of The Hague. I hope to continue to make a valuable contribution to this."
