"With these new timpani, the possibilities are endless."

Thanks to a donation from the Stichting Instrumenten Fonds, we were able to expand our instrumentation with a set of new timpani. These are specifically for music from the Baroque to early Romantic periods.

Our jubilee concertmaster

Leo has been a violinist in the Residentie Orkest for 25 years, 17 of which as concertmaster. That is why we put him full in the spotlight. For the first time, Leo talks about his childhood in Romania, his career as a violinist and the special way he came into our orchestra.

Take a look at the Concert Hall of Amare

The Concert Hall is located on the second floor and is the largest room in Amare. This is the hall where the Residentie Orkest can shine.

Alexandra Bons

Russian-born violinist Alexandra (call sign: Sasha) Bons became a proud member of our orchestra in 2015. Originally playing in the second violins, she recently successfully auditioned for a spot in the first violin group. Why did she want to make that switch? And what once brought her from faraway Russia to the Netherlands? Sasha is happy to tell you her story.
