Together with singer Fay Claassen, we are releasing the single "Painting of Love. The song was written by Fay and is a tribute to her father, Nijmegen artist Ger van de Geer. Fay has been lovingly accompanying him in his life with dementia for over a decade. It is Fay's mission to continue to see the person behind the disease from a positive attitude and to follow her father in who he has become. Through music, art and walking, she intuitively connects with him and enjoys the shared moments with him. 

Last January, Fay and the Residentie Orkest recorded a live recording at poppodium PAARD. This is where the idea arose to release this song in a collaboration with Alzheimer Nederland around World Alzheimer's Day. The proceeds of the single will go to Alzheimer Nederland for the benefit of research into the disease. 

Fay Claassen is a versatile singer. Her father, Ger van de Geer, is a visual artist and lives in a nursing home. His daughter is setting up a retrospective exhibition of his paintings in the conservatory. Together they stroll past the works of art until Ger stops abruptly, his gaze fixed on a canvas. Excited, he points to something in the lower right corner. 'Geer' is clearly legible. 'Indeed' confirms Fay 'that's your signature'. Support program concert Painting Exhibition
Prior to the concert Painting Exhibition she will present the single Painting of Love with her band and an ensemble from the Residentie Orkest in Amare Studio. During this single release, besides music, there will also be an interview with Fay Claassen by Riet Middelhoek of Stichting Alzheimer Haaglanden, in which Fay takes the audience through her motives for writing this song and her experiences with Alzheimer's disease.    

Proceeds from the single will benefit Stichting Alzheimer Nederland.
