Residentie Orkest congratulates The National Opera

The National Opera has been chosen by the international professional jury of the OPER! AWARDS as "Best Opera Company 2023. With this award, the international opera community gives a special token of appreciation for the artistic direction that The National Opera is taking under director Sophie de Lint. The Residentie Orkest congratulates them on this wonderful award and we are proud to be one of the partner orchestras.

The Residentie Orkest has worked with (the precursors of) The National Opera for decades. In recent seasons, the orchestra has performed in a critically acclaimed production of Messiaen's rarely performed opera Saint François d'Asisse, Poulenc's Dialogues des Carmélites, La bohème and Madama Butterfly by Puccini, Nabucco by Verdi, the world premiere of Ritratto by Willem Jeths and the Dutch premiere of Blue by Jeanine Tesori.
