Residentie Orkest with Beethoven 9 into the Hague neighborhoods
Beethoven's Ninth Symphony - with the message Alle Menschen werden Brüder - premiered two hundred years ago. The Residentie Orkest celebrated that anniversary not only with grand performances on May 24 and 26 at Amare, but also with various musical activities in May in districts of The Hague.
It Residentie Orkest The Hague believes that the power of music is tangible and accessible to everyone, from young to old. Also for people who can't afford a ticket for concerts in Amare. Based on this conviction, the orchestra initiates with RO in the city activities in the neighbourhoods of The Hague or participates in them. Beethoven's Ninth , with its final piece, Alle Menschen werden Brüder , is the musical translation par excellence of 'Together for a more beautiful The Hague'. It Residentie Orkest intervenes in the period in the run-up to the concerts on 24 and 26 May Amare together with social partners such as Buddy Network, CultuurSchakel and PEP, to spread this message in The Hague. After all, music has the power to connect.
Saturday 11 May: Volunteer market & pop-ups
On the initiative of the Residentie Orkest , PEP The Hague organized for the first time an extensive Volunteer Market, with CultuurSchakel and Open Amare joining as partners. Under the slogan "Together for a more beautiful The Hague, residents of The Hague were put in touch with organizations looking for volunteers and new members for amateur music companies. These companies also provided some performances. Four horn players from the Residentie Orkest along with singers from four amateur choirs opened the Volunteer Market at 1 p.m. at Amare with Beethoven 9. From 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., the four horn players toured the city in a tuktuk and gave pop-up performances on the tower of Theater de Vaillant and at the statue of Haagse Harry.

Monday, May 20: City Walk + Carillon Concert
During a city walk by Buddy Network and the Residentie Orkest through the center of The Hague, city carilloneur Gijsbert Kok played excerpts from Beethoven's Ninth Symphony in the Grote Kerk, among others.
At the Grote Kerk there was a mobile video screen (route maps are also handed out here). The video screen showed the video below in which bass trombonist Wouter Iseger visits city carillonneur Gijsbert Kok. They talk about Beethoven's Ninth and the translation of the symphony to the carillon.
