Gathering around Fauré's Requiem

The comforting effect of music

Friends and fellow friends

Music and emotions are inextricably linked. When you are sad, losing a loved one or feeling misunderstood, listening to music is one of the most important ways to feel comforted.

During a lecture by general and artistic director Sven Arne Tepl, together with a musician from the Residentie Orkest, this afternoon we will explore the comforting power of symphonic music from different periods and styles.

Prior to the lecture, you are welcome to attend part of a rehearsal that features Hendrik Andriessen's work Miroir de Peine(Mirror of Suffering).

Afterwards, there will be drinks.

"'It remains extraordinary how music can find a way in and touch us.'"

- Sven Arne Tepl
