Discover the Orchestra is a three-year music program for elementary school students. Every year, about 1,200 pupils have the opportunity to discover classical music and the symphony orchestra in this way. 

Students visit the Residentie Orkest and orchestra members visit the school. Together they explore the world of tones, timbre, rhythms and sounds. The conducting project in grade 8 is the highlight for many. Students learn the principles of musical conducting at school, and practice it with an ensemble in class. Each class chooses one representative to conduct the Residentie Orkest at the final concert.
