A Look Back at Rachmaninoff & Glass
A special Dutch premiere at the Amare: Philip Glass’s *Mishima Concerto* for piano and orchestra. It was a cinematic, mesmerizing journey, featuring pianist Maki Namekawa—a close musical collaborator of Glass’s for many years—in the lead role. Prior to that, Dennis Russell Davies conducted this season’s first “One Minute Symphony,” composed by composition student Jim van der Steege, and Rachmaninoff’s Third Symphony, a symphony full of color, nostalgia, and emotional power. Relive the moment with these beautiful photos, taken by Harold de Smet.
