Looking back on Christmas with the Residentie Orkest
With Yeol Eum Son and Kwamé Ryan
Last weekend, just before Christmas, the Residentie Orkest played two nearly sold-out concerts full of delightful music by Svendsen, Rachmaninov and Tchaikovsky. "Residentie Orkest in great form," according to The New Muse.
Before intermission, Svendsen's Romeo and Juliet - "played with verve under the enthusiastic direction of Kwamé Ryan" - sounded, while then pianist Yeol Eum Son performed Rachmaninov's Third Piano Concerto. "A very good performance was in which everything was right! The ovation for soloist, orchestra and conductor was all deserved." Finally, Tchaikovsky's First Symphony sounded. Enjoy some more time with these beautiful photos taken by Eduardus Lee.
