A heavenly weekend with one of the most beautiful requiems ever composed - the Netherlands Radio Choir returned to The Hague especially for Gabriel Fauré's Requiem. Together with soprano Judith van Wanroij and baritone Raoul Steffani, the choir delivered a deeply emotional performance of Fauré's timeless Requiem. Van Wanroij also shone in Andriessen's Miroir de peine for soprano and string orchestra, and conductor Tianyi Ly performed Beethoven's playful Fourth Symphony before intermission. All in all, two concerts full of stillness and expressive power.
