Review of Close to Classics

In late January, our special series of concerts Close to Classics took place. Visitors literally sat among our musicians and experienced the overwhelming sounds of a spectacular musical program from the inside out: from the stormy winter from Vivaldi's Four Seasons to a One Minute Symphony composed especially for this concert. The concerts were conducted by our emerging artist in residence Chloe Rooke.

In collaboration with our social partners and with support from Rabobank, EP&C, Rotary Des Indes and several private donors, we were able to invite six hundred residents from the Hague region to experience our orchestra in a unique way. From a residential care center to volunteers, family caregivers, school classes and Hague residents who can't afford a ticket: music can do anything!

Enjoy a moment longer with these beautiful photos, taken by Hans Poel.

Our thanks go to: Rabobank, EP&C, RoteryDesIndes, Taal aan Zee, Stichting Buddy Netwerk, Careibu, Cultuurschakel, Respect Wonen Zorg Welzijn, Theater De Vaillant, Quiet The Hague, PEP The Hague, Woonzorgcentra Haaglanden (WZH), Segbroek College, Stichting Haags Dierencentrum and JINC.

"I have never experienced anything like this before, it was so special to be among musicians. This was one of the most beautiful experiences with music!"
