Review of Brautigam plays Beethoven

With conductor Jan Willem de Vriend

Last Friday, master pianist Ronald Brautigam celebrated his seventieth birthday at the Residentie Orkest. And of course he did so with a Beethoven piano concerto, the unsurpassed Third.

The Residentie Orkest was conducted by audience favorite Jan Willem de Vriend. Besides Beethoven, he also conducted, among other things, a One Minute Symphony by the young composition student Katherine Teng, an ode to the birthday boy Brautigam, and finally the Dutch premiere of the Seventh Symphony by Emilie Mayer.
