Residentie Orkest At Dutch Violin Competition


Oskar Back Prize 2024

On Saturday, Jan. 27, Salomé Bonnema, Kira van der Woerd and Enzo Kok competed for the 2024 Oskar Back Prize in the finals of the Dutch Violin Competition at Utrecht's TivoliVredenburg . The Residentie Orkest under the direction of Jonathan Bloxham accompanied the three finalists in works by Mendelssohn and Lalo. First prize was won by Salomé Bonnema, second prize went to Kira van der Woerd and Enzo Kok won third prize and the audience award.

The Dutch Violin Competition is a biennial competition for young violin talent ages 6 to 26. The competition is divided into four age categories, including the Oskar Back category for youngsters aged 18 to 26. The Residentie Orkest is the regular accompanist of the finalists during the final concert of the latter age category.
