The one minute symphony of

Wilson Leywantono

In the One Minute Symphony project, composition students from the Royal Conservatoire The Hague take to the streets to make contact with a resident of The Hague or are inspired by a location or a work of art somewhere in the city. The students write a one-minute symphony about this encounter, which is played by us a short time later. A personal story transformed into music. That is only possible at Residentie Orkest.

"I go onto Youtube and search for Beethoven and see what is the most played music worldwide online."

- Wilson Leywantono

Composition student Wilson Leywantono was inspired by the Beethoven year. Unfortunately, his planned composition in the spring of 2021 did not go ahead, due to coronamation measures in place at the time. Wilson drew most of his inspiration from Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 14, also better known as the Mondscheinsonate.

The premiere of Wilson Leywontono's One Minute Symphony will be heard at MasterClassics: Beethoven Special Saturday, May 14, at 8:30 p.m. at Amare.
