One Minute Symphony from

Amarante Nat

In the One Minute Symphony project, composition students from the Royal Conservatoire The Hague take to the streets to make contact with a resident of The Hague or are inspired by a location or a work of art somewhere in the city. The students write a one-minute symphony about this encounter, which is played by us a short time later. A personal story transformed into music. That is only possible at Residentie Orkest.

"Kandinsky is a painter who does not appeal to me in a visual sense, but after this conversation that has become an afterthought."

- Amarante Nat

Composition student Amarante Nat sought inspiration for her One Minute Symphony at the Kunstmuseum Den Haag. Here she spoke to Doede Hardeman, the museum's Head of Collections, about the painter Wassily Kandinsky's work "Ein Zentrum. The artwork is like a quest for the spiritual, and the way Kandinsky works with colors Amarante hopes to use in her composition as well.
