Apple pie concerts

Cellist Miriam Kirby tells

With the Apple Pie Concerts, our musicians come to people with music and Foundation Apple Pies with apple pie, to touch and move.

We play for people who for whatever reason cannot (no longer) go to a Concert Hall . Family, friends, neighbors and other classical music lovers are also welcome to attend our public concerts.

"The special thing about the Apple Pie Concerts is that we bring something beautiful to people who can't so easily come to Concert Hall ."

- Miriam Kirby

So sometimes we play a concert for 2, sometimes for 200 people. Of course, apple pie is served at intermission. The apple pie symbolizes the safe, warm atmosphere of the concerts. The classical music comes into its own in this atmosphere. The apple pie concerts are also special events for the musicians. Here they have direct, personal contact with the audience.

Both our public Apple Pie Concerts and our private Apple Pie Concerts are informal, approachable, celebratory and moving. We believe in the power of repetition, so we strive to give as many Apple Pie Concerts as possible. That way we have the most impact. The social effects of the concerts are very important to us.

"The concerts have a warm, friendly atmosphere with lots of contact between the audience and the musicians and always end with coffee and apple pie!"

"We play small-scale, intimate concerts in nursing homes, sometimes in closed wards for people with dementia, at Alzheimer's cafes or in neighborhood theaters. "
