Conducting Project 2025


14 young conductors lead the Residentie Orkest true maestros


On November 26, 2025, it was party time at the Residentie Orkest Amare! The pupils in year 8 at our Discover the Orchestra schools celebrated the end of their journey with their final concert of the Conducting Project, now in its tenth year.

This project is part of the Discover the Orchestra learning program, a learning program run by the Residentie Orkest collaboration with KOO (Kunst Onderwijs organisation). During the final concert, a representative from each participating grade 8 class had the special opportunity to conduct the orchestra in well-known works by Mozart, Bizet, Tchaikovsky, Rossini, and others. This year, the young conductors were accompanied by conductor Leonard Evers, and the concert was presented by Eric Robillard. View an atmospheric impression with photos by Hans Poel here.

In the Conducting Project, grade 8 students discovered the different aspects of conducting in three workshops at school. They did this under the guidance of a musician from the Residentie Orkest a music teacher from KOO. During the third workshop, an ensemble from the Residentie Orkest classroom so that all the children could experience for themselves what it is like to conduct an orchestra. After this Last , a class conductor was chosen from each class. This student was allowed Residentie Orkest Amare Residentie Orkest during the final concert in Amare . In preparation, the class conductor received an extra masterclass so that he or she could shine with confidence during the final concert.
