Conducting project 2024
On November 26, 2024 it was party time at the Residentie Orkest in Amare! Pupils of grade 8 from our "Discover the Orchestra" schools festively concluded their participation in the learning line with the Conducting Project. They had the opportunity to lead the orchestra in well-known pieces by Bizet, Tchaikovsky and Rossini, among others. This year the little conductors were helped on stage by conductor Joost Geevers. In the annual Conducting Project , grade 8 students from participating schools discover, in three workshops at school, different aspects of conducting under the guidance of a musician from the Residentie Orkest and a professional music teacher from KOO (Kunst Onderwijs organisation). At the third workshop, an ensemble from Residentie Orkest will be in the classroom so that all children can really experience what it is like to conduct an orchestra.
After the third workshop, a class conductor will be chosen to conduct the Residentie Orkest on behalf of the class at the final concert in Amare. This class conductor will receive an extra master class in preparation so that the class conductor can show and hear the best of himself during the final concert.
