The Residentie Orkest enjoys going out into the neighborhoods. Ever since 2019, the Residentie Orkest has been playing an annual neighborhood concert for Transvaal and the Schilderswijk in Juliana Plaza. This time with a Close to Classics arrangement, in which the orchestra was spread throughout the space and the audience sat in between and around it. Part of the program was put together in response to requests from the neighborhood residents themselves. General and artistic director Sven Arne Tepl led the audience through the program, explained details of the repertoire and engaged in conversation with musicians. "Music brings people together, young and old. No matter where you come from, with music we speak the same language," said one of our musicians.
