New tune for the Residentie Orkest
By composer Amarante Nat
The talented composer Amarante Nat was asked by the Residentie Orkest to write a "tune" in honor of the orchestra's 120th anniversary. We were looking for a composition that embodies the character of the orchestra and encompasses the essence of over 300 years of symphonic music. The difficult task, but we are incredibly happy with the result!
The tune, titled Ex-libris, petite pièce d'orchestre, will be heard in videos, radio commercials and podcasts.
A tune that can be used for different purposes and fits the dynamic Residentie Orkest is not composed 1-2-3. Composer Amarante Nat tells in the video how she started after the assignment, "I actually sat down at the piano right away and just started playing. To work specifically with a short melody did teach me to look at expressiveness differently. I had four melodies and one of them I thought 'yes, that one seems good to me.' After that the composing actually starts."
