Come hear great classics by Brahms and Schumann. A concert featuring a first musical encounter between chief conductor Anja Bihlmaier and one of Holland's top pianists Hannes Minnaar.

Brahms and Schumann had much in common both personally and musically. Together with Schumann's wife, they formed a musical triangle at an important time in music history. Although Brahms and Schumann differed greatly in their styles, both composers were admirers of the other. Whereas Brahms is described as the most classical composer of the Romantic era, Schumann, in his First Symphony, knew how to translate nature into notes and sounds to sing of spring like no other. This evening is also the beginning of the recording cycle featuring Anja's Schumann symphonies with her orchestra.

"Schumann's symphonies are enormously profound and suit the orchestra and the hall well. The sound in Amare is very analytical and clear. You can hear every detail, which suits Schumann well."
