Relax and unwind on Sunday morning
Sunday Morning Concert:
Brahms & Mendelssohn
This concert is part of the Sunday Morning series.
Start your Sunday morning off right with music that transports you to other worlds. Liza Ferschtman and Ivan Karizna bring Brahms’ Double Concerto to life with flair and remarkable chemistry. Conductor Jonathan Bloxham leads the Residentie Orkest through Mendelssohn’s energetic Italian Symphony – joyful, dazzling and full of verve. A concert to lift your spirits.
The common thread running through today's programme is balance: between lyricism and vitality, intimacy and grandeur. Brahms weaves two solo voices into a single, breathing whole, with Ferschtman and Karizna responding to each other with warmth and precision. Mendelssohn then introduces us to a light, sun-drenched Italian musical world, where rhythm, clarity and melody are in perfect harmony. Bloxham brings these contrasts together into a radiant, unified musical experience.
