Before the concert, our host and the orchestra offer a few short, illuminating musical examples to prepare your ears for what's to come: a programme full of surprises, guaranteed to brighten up your weekend. After the concert, you're welcome to stick around in the foyer and enjoy more music. First drink is on us!
This concert reveals two sides of the same world: Mahler's intimate, inward voice and Dvořák's wide-open horizon. In the selected Rückert Lieder, Barbara Kozelj makes every emotion come alive with her warm mezzo, supported by Antony Hermus’s clear, expressive accompaniment. Next, Dvořák’s pastoral Symphony No. 5 carries you outside: playful, sunlit and imbued with the Bohemian landscape. An evening that moves the heart and celebrates nature in all its beauty.
