As is tradition, the Residentie Orkest the new season with the festive Prinsjesdag Concert. This year, we’re going for French flair and musical seduction. Violinist Noa Wildschut, one of the Netherlands’ most beloved soloists for years, shines in Saint-Saëns’ sparklingThird Violin Concerto. Thus, we open a new musical season with light, warmth, and a sparkling nod to French opera.
This year’s Prinsjesdag Concert around color, character, and theatrical tension. Saint-Saëns combines virtuosity with French elegance, perfect for Wildschut’s warm tone and communicative flair. Afterward, we’ll take you into the world of Bizet’sCarmenthrough the magnificent orchestral suites: sizzling dance and, of course, the unmistakable Toreador melody. Guest conductor Andrew Grams brings it all to life with ease, naturally with the necessary sense of drama… Perfect for this national holiday in The Hague.
