From waltz to wonderland
New Year's Concert
This concert is part of the Holidays series.
We're kicking off the year in style with a programme that sparkles, warms the heart and lifts your spirits. The young Cuban conductor Cosette Justo Valdés makes her debut with the Residentie Orkest, while Ukrainian pianist Anna Fedorova – renowned for her profound, expressive playing – brings Rachmaninoff’s irresistible Rhapsody to life. Joyful elegance, theatrical romance and a generous dose of Italian joie de vivre make this the perfect start to 2027.
This New Year’s programme moves from the glittering waltzes of Lehár’s Gold und Silber to Rachmaninoff's dazzling virtuosity. Tchaikovsky then takes centre stage with his vibrant Capriccio Italien, full of sunny melodies and theatrical flair, followed by the magical Sleeping Beauty Suite, where his masterful orchestration truly shines. A joyous celebration of music that is simultaneously bold, playful and full of depth.
