“I’m the ruler of the sea! Of all the fish and seagulls!” Teuntje is the daughter of the great Neptune, the ruler of the vast ocean. She wants to be just as big and strong as her father, but he still won’t let her do everything. That’s so unfair! But just as Teuntje is secretly playing with his trident, it’s stolen by Dolf & Rolf the Golf. Will she manage to get her father’s weapon back before he finds out?

In *Little Neptune*, Teuntje teaches you that you don’t have to solve every challenge on your own. The concert is about taking risks, working together, and discovering... and that help can sometimes come from unexpected places. Together with conductor Chloe Rooke and the “ Residentie Orkest ,” the musical theater company Jansen & De Boer shows how each instrument has its own sound and character. You’ll hear the sea come to life through music and performance, and it becomes clear how emotions and stories are told through the instruments. A broadly accessible and visually rich musical adventure for children in grades 3 through 5.

To make the performance accessible to as many children as possible, a sign language interpreter is part of the cast. The interpreter conveys not only the spoken text but also the music. The children can actively participate in the song “Baas van de Zee.” They sing the lyrics and learn the corresponding signs from Dutch Sign Language. This way, hearing children are introduced to sign language in a playful way, while children for whom spoken Dutch comes less naturally can fully participate.
