Danstheater

At the Danstheater , you Danstheater a raw and daring world premiere by choreographer Hofesh Shechter for NDT 1. Shechter is known for works that reveal what lies beneath the surface, both within ourselves and in the world around us. The friction between identity, the perception of our mind, and that of our body often serves as a common thread. In his new work for NDT 1, dreamlike scenes unfold alongside sudden flashes of reality, as the dancers push their physical limits. “Your mind is a flickering light that has forgotten its source, where thoughts collide and contradict one another,” says Shechter. Grand yet intimate, filled with intense physical surrender and pulsating music, this work promises to be a surreal journey that will completely sweep you away.

Concert Hall

In the Concert Hall , you Concert Hall a one-of-a-kind event celebrating five years of Amare—a unique encounter between music and contemporary dance that you won’t want to miss. The Residentie Orkest by Chloe Rooke, opens the evening with the brilliant brass fanfare from Dukas’s *La Péri*, a powerful start that immediately captures your attention. Then, the interplay between dance and music takes you on a journey: NDT associate choreographers Imre van Opstal and Marne van Opstal created a duet set to Max Richter’s Journey(CP 1919) especially to celebrate Amare. The duet, danced by former NDT dancers Chloé Albaret and Benjamin Behrends, showcases a raw and emotional dialogue between dance and music and can only be experienced on this evening. Then: a brand-new piece by Dutch composer Bianca Bongers. She brings the sensory echoes of Amarespaces to life. Ultimately, the journey concludes with Stravinsky’s sublime suite from The Firebird. In short, an evening full of color, drama, and rhythmic brilliance.
