Relax and unwind on Sunday morning
Mendelssohn & Ravel

This concert is part of the Sunday Morning series.
Start your Sunday morning off right with the Residentie Orkest and conductor Otto Tausk. At this concert, Mendelssohn's playful inventiveness will meet the electrifying energy of Ravel's piano music - a programme both surprising and moving. An inspiring morning where tradition and innovation go hand in hand.
This Sunday you'll hear Mendelssohn's Symphony No. 1, a bold piece by a fifteen-year-old already forging his unique musical voice. Written for his sister Fanny's birthday, it brims with youthful energy, offering a glimpse of the romantic grandeur that would come to define Mendelssohn. Ukrainian pianist Anna Fedorova - acclaimed for her profound expressiveness, with millions of YouTube fans - will bring Ravel's Piano Concerto in G to life. Infused with jazzy influences and rich colours, this composition dazzles with refinement and virtuosity, showcasing Ravel's love of rhythm and sound.
Musical workshop for children
For children aged 4 to 12, there's a fun musical workshop during the concert for €5 per child. Please be sure to book in advance! The workshop is in Dutch.
