Experience a compelling start to your Sunday the Residentie Orkest conductor Otto Tausk. This concert combines Mendelssohn's playful inventiveness with the thrilling dynamics of Ravel's piano playing—a program that both surprises and moves. An inspiring morning in which tradition and innovation go hand in hand.
This Sunday , you Sunday Mendelssohn's First Symphony, a daring work for a fifteen-year-old who was already making his own musical voice heard. Written for his sister Fanny's birthday, it sparkles with youthful energy, offering a preview of the romantic grandeur that Mendelssohn would later define. Ukrainian pianist Anna Fedorova—renowned for her deep expression, among other things by her millions of YouTube viewers—brings Ravel's Piano Concerto in G to life. This composition, peppered with jazzy influences and rich colors, challenges with refinement and virtuosity, and lets Ravel's love of rhythm and sound shine.
Musical workshop for children
For children aged 4 to 12, there's a fun musical workshop during the concert for €5 per child. Please be sure to book in advance! The workshop is in Dutch.
