Chief conductor Jun Märkl leads the Residentie Orkest in movements from Tchaikovsky's moving balletSwan Lake. South Korean star violinist Bomsori Kim will solo in romantic showpieces for violin by Saint-Saëns and Wieniawski, treasured compositions that also appear on Kim's debut albumViolin on Stage.

That German-Japanese conductor Jun Märkl is an enthusiastic advocate of Saint-Saëns' elegant compositions is no secret. With several orchestras, he has recorded relatively unknown gems by this French composer, including with the Residentie Orkest. Now he combines Saint-Saëns' world-famousDanse macabre(with the iconic violin solo) andMarche héroïquewith perhaps the most beautiful ballet music ever written:Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake.

Award-winning violinist Bomsori Kim also chooses Saint-Saëns.
