Celebrating traditions and new beginnings
Prinsjesdag Concert

This concert is part of the Symphonic Friday - Large series.
The Hague is celebrating Prinsjesdag, and we're celebrating too! The Residentie Orkest is kicking off the new season with an exciting programme, introducing our new chief conductor as well as our new artist in residence. For this special occasion, we're presenting a vivid and enchanting programme, bringing you along to a magical swan lake, a Faustian drama and a graveyard stirring in the dead of night.
Challenging, dramatic and full of lyrical beauty, Henryk Wieniawski's Fantasia is a favourite among violinists. What better way to introduce our new artist in residence, Bomsori Kim? Tonight, she will bring her technical mastery and flair for drama to the stage for the first time alongside our new chief conductor, Jun Märkl. But first, the dead will rise for a sinister dance in Saint-Saëns's Danse Macabre. After that, we'll shift to something more romantic to bring this festive evening to a fitting end: Swan Lake. Tchaikovsky's brilliant orchestration captures the emotion, tension and magic of this iconic ballet.
