New Year's Concert
A sure-fire way to celebrate the new year with sparkle: the Residentie Orkest's New Year's concert. This edition is all about color, virtuosity and French flair. Led by the charismatic Mei-Ann Chen, a conductor who guarantees pure passion, you will experience an evening where festive traditions and delicious music come together. Toast with us to a bright new year.
Acclaimed trumpeter Selina Ott brings her breathtaking technique and youthful energy to Tomasi's Trumpet Concerto - once considered unplayable, but now an established work in twentieth-century trumpet literature. She also shines in American trumpeter Bellstedt's joyous Napoli , a musical journey that brings to life the sun-drenched charm of southern Italy. In addition, the program embraces some of the finest French compositions: from the dreamy sounds of Debussy's Claire de lune and the lively charm of Poulenc's Les biches, to the theatrical grandeur of Berlioz's Le carnaval romain and the unforgettable melodies from Bizet's L'Arlésienne.
