Aladdin, released in 1992, won Academy Awards® including for Best Song ("A Whole New World") and Best Original Music. Composers Howard Ashman and Alan Menken collaborated on six songs for the film, including Arabian Nights, Friend Like Me and Prince Ali. After Ashman's death in 1991, Tim Rice wrote more songs for Alladin, notably One Jump Ahead and A Whole New World.
