Chopin & Sibelius

This concert is part of the Symphonic Friday - Medium series.
An evening full of masterpieces awaits you at Amare, where the Residentie Orkest will be joined by two exceptional musical guests: the highly acclaimed conductor Elena Schwarz and world-renowned pianist Nelson Goerner. We'll explore the national identities of three composers, diving into Polish modernity, Finnish Romanticism and French sophistication.
The concert will open with Grażyna Bacewicz's energetic Overture, a sparkling work that blends rhythm and power. Next, soloist Nelson Goerner will shine in Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 2, a romantic masterpiece brimming with Chopin's signature virtuosity and poetic depth. Tonight marks the world-class pianist's long-awaited return to the Residentie Orkest. Next up is Sibelius's Symphony No. 1 , a powerful work influenced by Russian classical traditions, reflecting profound human emotions. Schwarz will conduct the orchestra with her signature precision and flair. This unique combination of conductor, soloist and orchestra will bring to life music that resonates and inspires.
