Tchaikovsky's Romeo and Juliet and Dvořák's Cello Concerto with Queyras

Queyras recorded the demanding work early in his career and has since brought it to his name in widely acclaimed performances with the world's best orchestras.

Tonight, under the direction of Kerem Hasan, the Residentie Orkest performs the ever-popular romantic poem about the famous love couple Romeo and Juliet. Tchaikovsky does not follow Shakespeare's story literally, but he does conjure up the poignant love story, from the passionate love scenes and quarrels between the two rival families to the inevitable tragic end.
