Unfortunately, this concert has already taken place. But not to worry! We will be playing many more concerts soon.

This season, one of Holland's great composers, Klaas de Vries, celebrates his 80th birthday. One of his latest works, Cada Instante, will have its world premiere tonight. Expect a huge orchestra, with huge sound. De Vries' eclectic, experimental approach to music transforms classical sound into a sound world all his own. Tonight you will also hear Kurtág's deep, reflective Stele and Beethoven's expressive Fourth Piano Concerto.

As many as 115 musicians on Amares stage, that is unprecedented. For this we invite energetic and young talent to join us (and celebrate the evening larger than life): the charismatic conductor Chloe Rooke as well as the talents of the Royal Conservatory. Also tonight, Dutch pianist Hannes Minnaar crawls into Beethoven's hands to play the innovative Fourth Piano Concerto. The cadenzas of this piano concerto were written by Klaas de Vries. As a prelude to this special evening, you will hear Stele, by one of the greatest composers of our time: Gyorgy Kurtág.

CadaInstante by Klaas de Vries has been made possible in part by Performing Arts Fund NL and Société Gavigniès.

This concert is in collaboration with Festival Dag in de Branding.
