Tonight we bring a delightful combination of playful and sharp, flashy and delicate. At the piano is the wonderful young soloist Isata Kanneh-Mason. Isata is part of the Kanneh-Mason family, an extraordinarily musical family, all seven of whose children are talented musicians - including cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason. Isata has previously performed the Third Piano Concerto by Sergei Prokofiev, rebel and innovator. Then at the BBC, now with the Residentie Orkest. And then Die schöne Melusine by Felix Mendelssohn. An overture with a beautiful fairy-tale opening. The German conductor Ruth Reinhardt returns to The Hague tonight. She juxtaposes her energy, precision and deep insights with the talents of Isata Kanneh-Mason. This promises to be an unforgettable evening.
