With fourteen Stations of the Cross, twelve apostles, seven days of creation, four evangelists and the holy trinity, the story of Jesus's final days on Earth offers layers of interpretation and continuous wonder. Bach's music builds remarkable tension, with the choir and orchestra working together, complementing and challenging each other. The evening will be conducted by Richard Egarr, a Bach expert and enthusiast.
