In the week of his seventieth birthday, we will celebrate the impressive career of our dear friend, pianist Ronald Brautigam. A Beethoven connoisseur and enthusiast, Brautigam will bring the great composer's Piano Concerto No. 3 to Amare. In this piece, piano and orchestra engage in a spirited dialogue, challenging, supporting and complementing each other. The wonderful Seventh Symphony by the forgotten composer Emilie Mayer – a genuine revelation – will add to the richness of the evening.

Beethoven, and his Piano Concerto No. 3 in particular, runs like a common thread through Brautigam's life. Its dark and tempestuous quality elevates the expressive power of the piano to new heights as Brautigam treats orchestra and audience alike to his authentic interpretation – fierce and passionate, with profound emotional depth. Conductor Jan Willem de Vriend will build on this with Emilie Mayer's intriguing Seventh Symphony  full of contrasts, from dramatic and sombre to lyrical and joyful, written in the romantic language of Schumann and Brahms. An absolute must!
