Unfortunately, this concert has already taken place. But not to worry! We will be playing many more concerts soon.

Grand and compelling, dizzyingly exuberant, triumphant, glowing, warm-blooded. All apply to both Tchaikovsky's iconic Violin Concerto and the vast sound world of Prokofiev's Fifth Symphony. It will therefore be a more than passionate evening. Bomsori Kim, one of today's most captivating violinists, and one of our favorite guest conductors Michal Nesterowicz fan the flames.

It is the end of World War II when Prokofiev's Fifth Symphony is premiered. An impressive and poignant musical structure, as a tribute to humanity and hope for a better future. Also exciting is the explosion of expression in the first movement of Tchaikovsky's only Violin Concerto. The beautiful and lyrical themes, by the way, were not yet properly appreciated at the premiere in 1879. 'No violin is played here, but plucked, torn and whipped.' Now it is an absolute must-hear! Especially with the dynamism of soloist Bomsori Kim, who makes her debut in the Netherlands tonight!
