Unfortunately, this concert has already taken place. But not to worry! We will be playing many more concerts soon.

During RO NOW, you will be introduced to top works, and give your weekend a special twist. Each edition the conductor will tell you briefly more about the music, illustrated with examples by the orchestra. Afterwards you can linger in the foyer where live music sounds and the beers are cold. The first drinks are on us!

An evening full of surprises
Tonight you will witness a premiere in The Hague! Mathilde Wantenaar wrote her Concert for accordion and orchestra for the Residentie Orkest and Dutch accordionist Vincent van Amsterdam . The versatile, Dutch composer wrote operas, concertos, orchestral works and for singers and choirs. Her style? Lyrical, enchanting and eclectic. Her goal? To touch people with her music. Chief conductor Anja Bihlmaier then leads you into the swirling music of Stravinsky's ballet Petrushka. The ballet is based on a Russian folk tale of love and jealousy. Powerful, colorful music that stands like a house even without the ballet.

This concert is in cooperation with Festival Dag in de Branding.

As part of Festival Dag in de Branding , NPO Klassiek's Carine Lacor will have a conversation with Mathilde Wantenaar and two other composers to find out what motivates them. This conversation will take place at 7:15 p.m. in Amare (the Swing, to the left of the cloakroom) prior to the concert.
