Celebrating traditions and new beginnings
Prinsjesdag Concert
Unfortunately, this concert has already taken place. But not to worry! We will be playing many more concerts soon.
A new season and a new artist in residence. We are proud to present the top international violinist Josef Špaček who will sound a classic by Dvořák during the traditional Prinsjesdag Concert of the Residentie Orkest . Versatile, young and timeless - Špaček promises to open the season in magnificent fashion.
Josef Špaček is young, but already a great and impressive soloist. Speechful also because of the credible way he knows how to touch you directly. The lyrical motifs and firm call to attention of Czech composer Dvořák's warm and sunny Violin Concerto are right up his alley. An exciting introduction to a passionate violinist, whose great repertoire we will hear more often in our Concert Hall. Tonight you will also hear Smetana's The Vltava and Debussy's La Mer. Sometimes gently flowing, then rhythmically trickling or wildly undulating: chief conductor Anja Bihlmaier takes you across winding rivers and the mysterious dangers of the sea.
